The inaugural special train between Gangavati and Hubballi (No 07304) was flagged off in Gangavati on Monday.
Koppal MP-elect Karadi Sanganna, MLAs Paranna Munavalli (Gangavathi) and Achar Halappa Basappa (Yelburga) flagged off the inaugural special at Gangavati Railway Station in the evening.
The new train will help commuters and traders to come to Hubballi and Gadag and return home the same day. With the launch of the special train, a long-pending demand of people in the region has been met. Addressing a gathering, Mr. Karadi Sanganna said that with the help of Minster of State for Railways Suresh Angadi, the 165-km line from Ginigera-Raichur would be completed early. The dignitaries also inaugurated a ticket counter at the Gangavati Railway Station.
Regular service
Regular services of Train Nos 17303/17304 Hubballi-Gangavati-Hubballi Express will commence from Hubballi on Tuesday (June 4) and from Gangavati on Wednesday (June 5). Train No 17303 Hubballi-Gangavati Express will leave Hubballi at 5.20 p.m. daily and reach Gangavati at 9.30 p.m.
En route, the train will halt at Annigeri (6 p.m.-6.01 p.m.), Gadag (6.30 p.m.-6.32 p.m.), Bhanapur (7.19 p.m.-7.20 p.m.), Koppal (7.30 p.m.-7.32 p.m.), Ginigera (7.42 p.m.-7.44 p.m.), Budagumpa (8 p.m.-8.01 p.m.), Jabbalgudda Halt (8.18 p.m.-8.20 p.m.) and Chikkabenakal (8.39 p.m.-8.40 p.m.).
In the return direction, Train No 17304 Gangavati-Hubballi Express will leave Gangavati at 5.40 a.m. daily to reach Hubballi at 9.30 a.m.
En route, the train will halt at Chikkabenakal (05.54 a.m.-05.55 a.m.), Jabbalgudda Halt (6.07 a.m.-06.08 a.m.), Budagumpa (6.20 a.m.-6.21 a.m.), Ginigera (6.35 a.m.-6.37 a.m.), Koppal (6.46 a.m.-6.48 a.m.), Bhanapur (7.05 a.m.-7.06 a.m.), Gadag (8 a.m.-8.02 a.m.) and Annigeri (8.29 a.m.-8.30 a.m.).
