NSA Ajit Doval on Monday was given cabinet rank in Government of India in recognition of his contribution in the national security domain. His appointment will be for five years.

However, an official announcement regarding the decision is yet to be made.

Doval was appointed as National Security Advisor in 2014.

It was under his watch, the 2016 surgical strikes after Uri terrorist attack and the 2019 Balakot surgical strikes took place.
