It's not the first time Ebatarinja has escaped from the facility after he fled in similar circumstances last September.
He has been behind bars for rape, armed indecent assault and exposing a child to an indecent film.
Ebatarinja absconded from cottage accommodation at the facility used to house serious sex offenders.
He has repeatedly disobeyed strict supervision conditions, including drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis, watching pornography and and sneaking his on-off girlfriend into the facility for overnight stays, the NT News reported.
A department spokeswoman redirected Daily Mail Australia's inquiries to police.
