CHANDIGARH: With a move to increase the pace of developmental works in the city which were put on hold due to election code of conduct, all the departments of the Chandigarh administration have prepared their
100-day plan and submitted the same to the Punjab Governor-cum-UT administrator V P Singh Badnore.
The administrator will see presentation of all the developmental works. Sources in the Chandigarh administration revealed that the Central government had also asked for 100 days plan a few days back from the UT administration and the same may also be apprised to the Centre after satisfaction of the administrator.
The key projects of the UT include construction of 344-bed mother and child hospital in the city, construction of emergency and trauma centre at GMCH-32, construction of five community centres, re-carpeting of various roads, development of existing street lights in the city, augmentation of raw water, establishment of water treatment laboratory and projects under the
smart city etc.
As per information, the engineering department of the Chandigarh administration, municipal corporation, urban planning department, health department, education department, Chandigarh smart city limited company and some other departments have submitted their 100-day plan to the administrator.
“Almost all the departments have submitted their 100-day plan to the administrator. We are now seeking the date and timings for the presentation where he will see proposal or projects of all the departments,” said a senior UT official.
Sources in the Chandigarh administration said since the election code of conduct had come to an end all the departments have been asked to speed up their work and complete the process and start the developmental works on ground as soon as possible.
“Since most of the works are related to the engineering department of the UT and the MC, the tendering process of all such works will be initiated soon and the same has been put in the list of 100-day plan,” said sources.
