BHOPAL: Bhopal sizzled at 45.3 degrees Celsius on Monday and other parts of the state reeled under severe heat with mercury level remaining above 40 -mark across the state. Though Nautapa ended on Sunday, there was no offer from respite.On Monday, citizens of Damoh, Sagar and Raisen simmered at 47 degrees — highest in the state.
Other parts of the state too witnessed blistering hot condition with Jabalpur recording 45.6 degrees. Khajuraho simmered at 45.2, Mandla at 45.4 while Naugaun, Sidhi and Umaria recorded 45 degrees Celsius. Bhopalites too received no respite from heat as it recorded highest temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius. Indore remained comparatively better at 43 degrees. Night temperature of most of the places too remained above normal.
Chambal, Chhatarpur and Damoh districts also witnessed heat wave conditions. Meteorological department has warned of severe heat wave condition in Guna, Datia, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Damoh, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sheopur, Bhind and Morena.
Met department says that these conditions are likely to prevail for couple of more days across the state after which clouds might give respite to some parts in the state.
