BHOPAL: A day after a newborn died allegedly due to carelessness of JP hospital staff, health minister Tulsi Silawat on Monday visited the government medical facility and met the bereaving family The minister has sought a detail report of the incident within two days.
On Sunday, Sujita Rathore, who was in labour, had come to JP hospital with her husband. The man requested the hospital staff to provide a stretcher to his wife but one came forward to help them. In absence of stretcher, as the man was taking his wife to the labour room, in the midway, the woman fell down and delivered a pre-mature baby.The baby died on the spot.
On Monday, the minister met the family and assured them of full medical facility and also financial assistance. Silawat directed the civil surgeon Dr Chug to present a detail report of the incident in two days and fix accountability of the persons responsible for the tragic incident. He also directed to ensure no repetition of the incident was reported in any of the hospitals. The minister visited OPD, pathology lab, CT scan, X-ray and emergency rooms and also inspected the arrangements and medical services at the hospital. While talking to medical staff the minister informed them that he is planning to make the hospital as a model medical facility of the state.
