Id-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday in Kerala after completing 30 days of obligatory Ramzan fasting.

Kazis in the State confirmed that Id will be on Wednesday as the new moon heralding the Islamic month Shawwal was not sighted anywhere on Monday evening. Some fake messages circulated on the WhatsApp created confusion among the people after Monday’s Iftar.

However, major Kazis such as Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, Syed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal, Syed Nasar Hayy Shihab Thangal, and Syed Mohammed Koya Thangal Jamalullaili soon declared that Ramzan would complete its 30th day on Tuesday and Id would be celebrated on Wednesday.
