AP, Delhi boys top TS LAWCET

HYDERABAD: Metta Suraj, a student from Srikakulam, has secured state first rank in the Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET), results of which are announced on Sunday.

Suraj, who appeared from the exam to join in the 5-year LLB course secured 112 marks. He is the only student from Andhra Pradesh in top 10 list as the remaining positions are occupied by Telangana students. SUSHANTH SREERAM from Jangaon and Siliveru Laxmi Tanuja from Khammam are placed at second and third positions with 106 and 102 marks respectively.


The Telangana State Council for High Education, who were planning to release the results in a day or two, were forced to release the results on Sunday after TS PGLCET results were uploaded due to technical snag. Candidates were able to download their rank even before the results were officially released.


“Due to a technical error the results were uploaded in the afternoon and many have downloaded their rank cards. To avoid confusion, we decided to go ahead and release the results,” said GB Reddy, convener, TS LAWCET and TS PGLCET.


When it comes to entrance examination (TS LAWCET) for admission into 3-year LLB course, Vikas Vashisth of Delhi secured top rank. He secured 90 marks. Kethiri Dileep and P Saketh Srinivas from Telangana managed to secure second and third ranks respectively.


Vemuganti Tharani, a student from Hyderabad, meanwhile, secured first rank in Telangana State Law & PG Law Common Entrance (TS PGLCET) examination. She secured 82 marks to top the chart. Second and third positions in this entrance exam too are occupied by girls as Vasireddy Vaishnavi and Dharmapuri Vagdevi managed to score 81 marks in the entrance test.


In total, 10, 539 candidates out of 13, 141 candidates, who appeared for the test, qualified in TS LAWCET (3-year). For the 5-year LLM course, a total of 3130 candidates qualified and in the PGLCET entrance examination 1835 candidates qualified in the entrance test.
