Southern Bay Brewery, in Victoria, posted the 'beer meme' on Monday night but within an hour it was forced to remove the post
'Hey wow, your social media just dropped below the quality of your beer! Congrats. Now delete this rancid post,' one woman said.
'Well this wasn't one of your better business decisions,' another said.
The company then issued a grovelling apology, where they begged for forgiveness.
'This was posted without any thought whatsoever and no offence was intended. I apologise unreservedly,' the post read.
'We realise this is not good enough and we should not have posted the homophobic beer meme. It will not happen again.

Many social media users were shocked over the post and demanded the brewery remove it
'It was a gross error and mistake and we would appreciate it if people were kind enough to forgive us.'
However, the apology has been labelled 'p*** weak' by some users who claimed it seemed less than sincere.
'Can you please update and correct your apology, it wasn't a problem because it was a ''beer meme''. It was homophobic. Let's be really clear.'
'Don't minimise your actions, but own up to it or your response is meaningless,' one person said.
'What an absolute disgrace. You have tarnished its reputation and yet again we are reminded that this bulls**t still exists,' another said.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Southern Bay Brewery for comment.
