3 days on, snag in infra triggers long outages in DLF-3

Gurgaon: Residents of Pink Town House in DLF-3 are facing frequent power cuts for the past few days, even as the builder and DHBVN have been passing the buck.
“For past three days, we have been facing 12 to 15 hours of power cut. Even if the power comes back, it doesn’t last for more than an hour or two. Both DLF and DHBVN are blaming each other, while the residents continue to suffer,” alleged Madan Yadav, a resident of the society and former RWA chief of the society. Residents claimed that the power infrastructure in the society has become vulnerable to erratic electricity supply and voltage fluctuations due to increase in demand.
DLF officials claimed that the outage is due to a technical failure at the power house near Sikanderpur. While they maintained that the source of the problem is with 66 KVA transmission lines, DHBVN asserted that they had already rectified the issue and the crisis in the society was due to the internal infrastructure installed by the builder.

“The underground cable coming from the source station in Sector 20 got damaged due to overload. We identified the issue and fixed it. We have in fact shifted the load as well. But, the main problem is with the laying of LT lines by the builder which is why the society keeps facing these issues again and again,” said Vikas Yadav, DHBVN SDO South City.
However, DLF junior engineer Dinesh Lamba, who looks after the power infrastructure in the society, said, “Our infrastructure is well in place. The problem was with the underground cables outside the DLF-2 and we are working with DHBVN officials to fix it.”
