Liberal minister is savagely mocked for an embarrassing 'cut and paste' Twitter gaffe where he forgot to delete two telling words
- Chris Bowen was appointed Labor's health spokesman at the weekend
- Minister Greg Hunt took to Twitter with a 'back-handed congratulations'
- But two telling words were accidentally left at the front of Mr Hunt's tweet
- He replaced the rogue words, but not before Mr Bowen's cutting response
A Liberal Party frontbencher has been mocked by Labor after a Twitter fumble where he accidentally 'cut and pasted' a staffer's suggestion into his social media post.
Greg Hunt, the minister for health, took to Twitter at the weekend to congratulate Chris Bowen on his new role as Opposition health spokesman.
But Mr Hunt accidentally left two telling words at the beginning of his post, which read: 'What about ... Congratulations to Chris Bowen as Labor Health Spokesperson - however he's the man who forgot to allocate any funding for a hospital's agreement despite pledging to do so for 6 years - big promises - zero dollars when it counted.'
The rogue words were quickly deleted and replaced - but not before Mr Bowen saw it and posted a cutting response.

'What about,' Mr Hunt's tweet read before continuing to congratulate Chris Bowen for his new portfolio

Liberal Party Minister Greg Hunt (pictured with Prime Minister Scott Morrison) was caught in an embarrassing blunder by 'cutting and pasting' a staff member's suggestion
'Thanks for the congrats Greg. But a little hint: it's best to delete the "what about" before cutting and pasting a tweet suggested by your staff,' Mr Bowen wrote.
Several people took to social media to mock Mr Hunt over the fumble, which some described as a 'back-handed congratulations'.
'Managed to stuff up even his backhanded congrats,' one Twitter user wrote.
'How goods Twitter? How goods Greg? How good is incompetence??' another person said.
The social media gaffe comes after Liberal Party MP Angus Taylor was caught congratulating himself from his own account on Facebook last month.

Mr Hunt's original post was quickly deleted and replaced without the suggestion, but not before Mr Bowen saw and posted a response

Last month Mr Taylor posted a video announcing 1000 extra car parks for rail commuters in Hume and there was a flurry of positive comments.
Among the excited posts was one from Mr Taylor's official account, which said: 'Fantastic. Great Move. Well done Angus'.
Many believe the comment was meant to be posted from a fake Facebook account instead of the official one, in a bid to boost positive engagement.

The post was quickly deleted but not before people on social media caught wind of the gaffe.
'What a great tweet Angus, Sincerely, Angus,' one person joked.
'You know PR isn't going well when you have to congratulate yourself,' another person said.
However, others jumped to his defence.
'Who says it's from the wrong account? May have done it on purpose?' one person asked.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted to Greg Hunt's office for comment.
