Vadodara: The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has delayed the change in its constitution and sought clarification from the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA) over issues. The BCA managing committee that met on Monday discussed the contentious issues and supported the association’s decision of seeking clarification from the CoA.
“The CoA had written to the BCA on May 20 and asked us to submit our amended constitution. We replied to the CoA and sought clarification on some issues. One of the main issues is the number of members to be included in the apex committee. Are we supposed to increase the members to 19 or keep it between nine and 19,” said Snehal Parikh, BCA secretary (in-charge).
“The other issue is about eligibility for contesting the elections. There is a need to clear confusion over the cooling off period. Is it applicable only for office-bearers or the managing committee and sub-committees as well. And we have asked the CoA to confirm about BCA’s compliance and release Rs 10 crore that are being given to fully complied state associations,” Parikh told TOI.
The association has also formed a committee for picking up the Ranji coach, assistant coach, physio and trainer. “We have included Munaf Patel, Kiran More, Narayan Satham and Rakesh Parikh in the committee that will soon meet to discuss the appointing the new coach. We have got 17 applications for the post of Ranji coach,” Parikh said.
