Minor gang-raped, critical after bid to kill

KARNAL: A seven-year-old girl was stated to be critical after three men allegedly gang-raped her on Friday night and then tried to kill her. Police said the main accused, a resident of Bihar, has been arrested.
The girl belongs to a family of migrant workers and lives in a hut at a brick kiln. She has been admitted to a government hospital. Police have registered a case on a complaint by her father. The district child welfare committee team also visited the hospital.
Her family said the child was sleeping outside the hut when she was kidnapped on Friday night. They alleged that after raping her, the three tried to kill her. After hearing her screams, the family reached the spot, but the accused escaped. The family then took her to a hospital, where her condition is still stated to be critical.
District child welfare committee chairman Umesh Chanana said she the medical test to confirm rape would be conducted soon. Police said a case has been registered against the three men on a complaint by the family, under Section 376D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The search to find the other two accused was on. Police have detained 6-7 local workers. The statement of the girl would be recorded before a magistrate after her health improves.
Three booked for gang-rape in Hisar

Hisar police have registered a case against three men for allegedly abductiung a married woman from village bus stand and raping her in a car. The 28-year-old rape survivor was waiting for a bus to go to her maternal home. Hisar police spokesperson said they had registered a case under Sections 365, 376-D, 506, 341 of the IPC and Arms Act on the complaint of the rape survivor.
In the complaint given to the police, she said she was waiting for a bus at the village bus stand for going to her maternal home on the afternoon of May 30. At that time three men came in a car and forcibly dragged her into the vehicle, she added. The survivor further said two of them raped her in the car while the third held pistol against her forehead. They also threatened to kill her if she complained to anyone. After that, the three left her near a temple in the same village and fled. She said she later came back to her house and informed her family. After this the family took her to the police station.
