Four injured as BJP, TMC supporters clash in West Bengal

Tension prevailed Monday at in district, where four persons were injured following a clash between supporters of the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress, police said.

Trouble began when the supporters were felling trees, which the BJP workers objected to, resulting in a scuffle, they said.

The injured were admitted to the district hospital.

Dilip Yadav, district president and chairman of the Uttarpara-Kotrang Municipality, alleged that BJP workers insulted the national flag by replacing it with the party's saffron flag.

The BJP, however, denied the allegations.
