The complainant, a resident of Hastings Park Road in Alipore, sought the detective department’s help to identify the accused. “We have found enough substance in her complaint and we have lodged a FIR under the Information Technology Act,” an officer said.Cybercell officers said they were in the process of contacting Instagram authorities for leads.
“The social media platform has been an important place of business for the complainant as people could choose apparels and pay online. Hence, deleting the account was made with a business motive. However, we are also looking at personal motives. We have prioritized the investigation and have developed certain leads,” an officer said. Police said they were going through the technical records of former employees at the firm to ascertain their possible role in executing the crime.
