Citizens cautioned on cybercrimes

HUBBALLI: Police commissioner MN Nagaraj has cautioned residents not to fall prey to cyber tricksters. In the wake of increase in cybercrimes, the commissioner issued a statement on Sunday and requested the public to remain alert while doing any online or digital transactions.
Sharing some of modus operandi of the tricksters, the commissioner asked the residents not to share their bank details, debit or credit card, CVV number and one-time password.
He said people need to be alert while buying or selling products on online market sites. He also cautioned people against installing unnecessary and unwanted apps on their cellphones.
