Samsung has earned rave reviews from smartphone enthusiasts for not skipping the headphone jack all these years after Apple ditched it first in the iPhone 7. Now, it seems the Galaxy Note 10 might finally be the first Samsung handset to ditch the much-loved feature, as per the latest tweet from Ice universe, who’s a known and reliable Samsung tipster. And another tweet from the same industry insider has hinted that Samsung might finally bring a 45W fast charge feature to the phablet, its fastest ever charging tech on a device.
Talking about the removal of the headphone jack, the tipster only stated that it’s best not to remain optimistic, which means bad news for those who prefer a 3.5mm audio slot. But he still didn’t confirm that the feature is set to be removed. However, the previous rumour that Samsung might not implement physical buttons now seems to be debunked as this latest tweet says that the model did not pass Samsung’s tough testing conditions.
Another tweet over the weekend from the same source shared a painting of famous inventor Leonardo Da Vinci with the ‘101101′ numbers. Notably, the Galaxy Note 10 is also internally codenamed “Da Vinci”. There’s also a lightning bolt symbol in the image in the backdrop which hints that the post has something to do with the battery of the Galaxy Note 10. When this binary code is translated to decimal numbers, it translates to 45. Now, this could mean that the handset will have 45W charging as previous reports had also hinted this. If these two tweets turn out to be true, we already have two of the biggest headline grabbers for the Galaxy Note 10 – no headphone jack and a 45W fast charging similar to Huawei’s SuperCharge.
According to the reports, Samsung will also be cutting the battery size on the smaller Note 10 to a 3,400mAh while the bigger one is expected to get a massive 4,500mAh cell. We will have to wait and see if both models get the fast charging feature or not. Samsung recently unveiled a breakthrough that will allow them as high as 100W fast charging in the near future. Unfortunately, it seems like we will have to wait longer to see 100W charging tech in a phone for now.
