A man has finally admitted to causing the death of a mother-of-four when he was speeding and mowed her down in August 2016.

Annabelle Deall's family expressed their relief after Belkadi finally took responsibility for his actions.

Ms Deall and her two friends were crossing The Scenic Highway at Terrigal, north of Sydney, at 7.30pm when two of them were mowed down on their way to dinner.

Meagan Darling was pregnant at the time and suffered a pelvis injury after being hit by the car's side mirror - but thankfully her baby was unharmed.

Their friend Melissa Wilkinson was also crossing the road with them but was missed by the speeding car.

Ms Deall's father David King told The Daily Telegraph it is a relief Belkadi admitted guilt.

'We are relieved that finally Mr Belkadi has acknowledged that his dangerous driving resulted in the death of my daughter and the injuries to her friend and a passenger in the car.

Belkadi was originally also charged with negligent driving occasioning death, and not keeping left of dividing line, but these charges were dropped prior to his eleventh hour plea.

Agreed facts in court revealed the women stopped 'momentarily to give way to oncoming traffic approaching from their left,' before reaching the middle of the road.

Belkadi's Mazda RX-8 came towards the trio from the right after travelling over a crest on the road about 90 metres away.

Belkaldi admitted to police that he was speeding, doing 60km/h in a 50km/h zone when he went over the crest and noticed the women in the middle of his lane about 30 metres in front of him.

'The offender decided to swerve across the unbroken white lines and onto the incorrect side of the road in an effort to avoid colliding with the women and drive around them,' the agreed facts state.

'However at the same time as he did this, the deceased and Ms Darling moved and into the path of the offender's car. Ms Wilkinson did not move forward and remained frozen in the westbound lane.'

After the collision Belkadi stopped his car and returned on foot to the scene of the crash.

Ms Deall left behind her husband Simon, and four sons, aged six and four, and two-year-old twins.

Belkadi will be sentenced on September 12.
