ALWAR: A retired Army jawan, convicted for raping a five-year-old girl, was sentenced to imprisonment till death by a special court here on Friday.
Special public prosecutor, Yogendra Khatana informed TOI that accused Charan Singh was convicted for raping the minor girl on June 19, 2017 under the limits of NEB police station area of Alwar. Singh lured the girl on pretext of buying her toys and took her to his house where he raped her. The minor was found writhing in pain and bleeding profusely from her private parts when she was recovered from Singh’s house.
The girl’s father registered an FIR against the accused. The police submitted a detailed chargesheet and adduced medical reports before the court. The accused was convicted under multiple sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act.
