PATNA: Altogether 48,648 students passed the matriculation compartmental-cum-special examination conducted by the
Bihar School Examination Board (
BSEB). The results were declared by the state education minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma on Friday.
The pass percentage was recorded at 73.67%. While 66,038 candidates appeared for compartmental examination, 1,487 took the special examination, held from May 14 to May 17. The students who appeared for special exam had to take all the papers because they had earlier failed to write their annual exams due to non-payment of fee or some other reasons. While in compartmental exam, students were allowed to appear in maximum two subjects.
While 72.29% students cleared the compartmental examination, 60.86% passed their special examination. Altogether 757 students passed with first division, while 9,932 and 35,421 pupils bagged second and third division, respectively. The overall pass percentage of Class X exam was 26.53% in 2018.
Girls outsmarted boys with the pass percentage of 46.54%. Boys pass percentage was recorded at 27.12%. Candidates can check the result on www.biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said Class X compartmental-cum-special examination results have been declared in just seven days. “The board has completed the evaluation of answer sheets only in six days after the examinations got concluded. This was possible because of the new techniques and computerized process adopted by the board,” Kishor said.
Early declaration of results help students to take admission in higher studies as the admission process is still going on. Kishor said, “Students who cleared the compartmental and special examinations can also take admission in
Bihar board affiliated Inter schools and colleges through Online Felicitation System of Student (OFSS) or spot admission process.”
Around 16,60,609 students had registered for Class X examinations this year, out of which 16,35,070 appeared and 13,20,036 passed. Total 6,83,990 boys and 6,36,096 girls passed the BSEB exams, the results of which were announced in March.
