Five year old boy battles for life after falling into hot oil pan

CHANDIGARH: Police here have arrested a resident for negligence after a 5-year-old boy fell into a hot oil pan and received 70% burn injuries. The boy is now battling for life at GMCH-32.

The accused has been identified as Veer Singh, 25, a resident of Burail village. Complaint Pintu, maternal uncle of the boy reported that on Thursday his sister visited him along with his nephew identified as Mohit Kumar who was playing near his house with other children. Veer Singh, a street food vendor was preparing food in the area and had kept a large hot oil pan on the road near Pintu's house.
Mohit while playing accidentally fell into the hot oil pan and received severe burn injuries. He was taken to the civil hospital, Burail from where he was referred to GMCH-32. Complainant said he had warned the accused not to prepare food near residential areas but all in vain.
