Inter students furious as delay over re-verified results drags on

Student organisations held protest at TSBIE office in Nampally.
HYDERABAD: Even four days after the release of re-verified results, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has failed to complete the evaluation process with scores of students still waiting for the board to update their results. Not only has the board failed to upload the answer scripts, over 2,000 students among the 19,788 candidates, whose result was kept on hold for second-level checking, are not even aware if they have cleared the test.
“I have been calling the helpline numbers since May 27 and they always say that result will be updated in a day or two. When they know that the process is going to take more time, why give false hope to students,” questioned K Vaibhav, who is one among the students waiting to know the outcome of re-verification.
Students said that with hardly a week left for the Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations to begin, waiting for re-verification result is having an adverse impact on their preparation. “My result status is displayed as under process since the day re-verification results were released. I have been checking the website continuously for an update instead of preparing for the supplementary examination,” said M Kalyan Kumar. Many also complained that there are discrepancies in their results and added that the board should immediately correct them.
“As per re-verification results, my Math 1(b) marks have been changed from 19 to 15. However, the result is displayed as pass. Now, either the result or the marks are wrong but I am hoping that they made a mistake while updating my marks,” said P Hima Bindu.
Meanwhile, students, who have passed in the exam and applied for re-verification/re-counting, said the board should speed up the process. “We are losing opportunities to join institutes in other states. The board can’t simply take its own time,” said V Akshitha.

The board officials, on their part, have said that the process should be completed in the next few days. Representatives of Globerena Technologies Private Limited, which is handling data and result processing for the board, also said that process should be completed by Sunday. “Of the 19,788 candidates, we have completed verifying results of about 16,500 candidates. When it comes to passed candidates, we have processed result of about 56,000 candidates,” said V S N Raju, CEO of Globerena Technologies Private Limited.
After the inter result fiasco, more than 1.2 lakh students, including failed candidates, applied for re-verification/re-counting this year, which is way more when compared with last year figure of 24,000.
