Gurgaon: The District Legal Services Authority (
DLSA) on Friday held a
seminar — ‘Humanity Is Not For Sale’ — at the Gurgaon district court complex to sensitise law practitioners, labour department officials and police personnel on the need to combat
human trafficking.
The workshop, attended by lawyers, police officials and NGOs, stressed upon the need to identify victims of trafficking.
District and sessions Judge AK Sodhi, who is also the director of DLSA, said the idea behind the seminar was to get different stakeholders under one roof and sensitise them towards human trafficking not only in terms of legal provisions, but social justice as well. In the seminar, people were also made aware of different forms of trafficking, legal aid options for the victims, and how and where to file complaints against such activities. DLSA also released the number of Gurgaon’s one-stop centre to help people file complaints related to human trafficking.
