Nagpur: Farmers of Ramtek, Mouda and Parseoni talukas will take out a rally on June 7 to press for release of Pench water to their crops. The rally although taken out under aegis of Kisan Bachao Kriti Samiti is being supported by Ramtek BJP MLA DM Reddy.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Reddy demanded that Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC) reduce the supply to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) by 30 million cubic metre (mm3) out of the total 190 mm3. “The quota of Khaparkheda and Koradi power plants should be reduced from 68 mm3 to 30 mm3. The 68 mm3 thus saved should be supplied to the farmers,” he said.
The MLA further said that VIDC should complete the Kochchhi project immediately.
