Punjab: Journalist-cum-advocate attacked by group in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: A journalist, who is also an advocate, was allegedly brutally attacked by a group of people when he went to a dairy to get milk at Mullanpur on Saturday morning. Police have booked the accused persons for attempt to murder.
Police officials said that advocate Rakesh Gupta, who runs a weekly newspaper and is an RTI activist as well, was going to get milk from a dairy. Suddenly, a group of armed miscreants attacked him and he was excessively injured. Rakesh Gupta was rushed to a private hospital by his family in Ludhiana.
SHO Dhaka said, "The CCTV footages are being scanned to gather clues about the attackers."

Rakesh Gupta told cops that he had issues with Bajrang Bansal who along with Jaswinder Singh and Sanjeev Verma got him attacked.
On the basis of his statement, police have booked seven people in an attempt to murder case.
