Illegal cattle shades razed

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Saturday razed four illegal cattle shades operating in the busy Fatehgunj area of the city. The action was taken as part of a crackdown planned on illegal cattle shades in the city.
The shades have been operating in Fatehgunj since several years now. The VMC used to catch cattle in the city so far, but had not taken any strict action against such shades so far. After deciding on the crackdown, it had recently razed cattle shades in the eastern parts of the city and the drive will continue till July 17.
Officials said that besides razing the shades and seizing material used to make them, the cattle there are also being impounded. As many as 27 bovines were impounded from Fatehgunj on Saturday. All illegal shades are also being sealed by the civic body.
