Part of 25-year-old building collapses in Thane, no casualty

Initial investigations revealed the building was declared dangerous a few months back and required repairs.
THANE: A part of the second floor gallery of the Aasha Usha building at Wagle estate, Thane collapsed in the wee hours of Saturday. Luckily, no casualty or injury was reported, said the official sources.
Panicked residents and neighbours called up the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and Fire Brigade that reached on site with rescue vehicles and evacuated residents from all the 42 rooms as a precautionary measure.

Rescue officials said the structure is approximately 25 years old and initial investigations revealed it was declared dangerous a few months back and required repairs.
Officials said they will decide the fate of the structure after commissioning a fresh audit report.
