The younger brother of child killer Michael Guider has pleaded with prosecutors to keep the notorious paedophile behind bars.

Tim Guider warned the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to keep 'the monster' in jail because he showed no remorse for the 1986 murder of nine-year-old Bondi schoolgirl Samantha Knight.

The 69-year-old killer, who was jailed in 2002 for killing Samantha, could walk free from the Long Bay Metropolitan Special Programs Centre on Thursday.

'He's a psychopath with no feelings for his victims – that is what has enabled him to become a monster of his own nightmares,' Mr Guider told The Sunday Telegraph.

The Narrabeen sculptor shared he has formed a solid bond with the nine-year-old's mother, Tess Knight, over a series of 'long' and 'emotional' phone calls in the past three years.

Guider is set to be released after the court heard he had given Samantha an overdose of a sleeping drug, while he was a gardener and part-time baby sitter.

The 69-year-old has never revealed the exact location of the Samantha's body.

He was serving a 16-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to in 1996 to dozens of child sex offences against 11 victims.

Some of his victims were drugged so he could take photographs and abuse them.

Mr Guider has asked DPP Lloyd Babb to charge his brother based off evidence relating to victims who were too fearful to come forward in the past.

In a written letter, he said: 'Your predecessor chose to prosecute Michael Guider only for his crimes relating to those eleven brave victims,

'There are many other victims the police identified.'

Guider may be denied his parole on Thursday if the New South Wales Attorney General win a legal bid to keep him in prison.

The NSW Attorney-General has urged to extend Guider's sentence with a 12-month detention order and a five-year extended supervision order.

Justice Richard Button will decide the 69-year-old's further penalties before Wednesday.

Mr Guider has praised Samantha's mother Mrs Knight for being able to cope with her daughter's murder.

'As a father myself, I have the utmost respect for Tess, I'd have never been able to handle what my brother did to Sam as stoically as her, she's incredibly strong,' he told the publication.

'I've told Tess ''I'm sorry'' for what happened but I'm not Michael – we share the same mother, not the same DNA.'

'[Tim and I] have spoken on the phone over the last three years, we do talk. I hope one day we found out [where the body is],' Mrs Knight said.

Mr Guider and Mrs Knight are convinced Samantha's body is buried in a grave at Gore Hill Cemetery in St Leonards in Sydney's north shore.

Mrs Knight has expressed Mr Guider's letter pleading to keep his brother locked up.
