Indore: City crime branch raided a village on the border of Dewas district and arrested 47 people while they were gambling in a hut on Friday. A sum of Rs 2.34 lakh was recovered from them. Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said police received information that a group of people are gambling in Dakhnakhedi village near Khudel. After information, crime branch along with a team from Khudel police station raided a hut outside village and arrested 47 people from there. Some of the accused tried to flee the spot but the police arrested them after cordoning off the area.
They were gambling there for a long time. Police seized a sum of Rs 2.34 lakh and 52 mobile phones from them. ASP Singh said that spot comes under Barotha police station in Dewas district so the accused have been handed over to Barotha police station staff for further action. They were gambling in the deserted area to evade arrest.
