A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly shot his lover during a sex act with his own gun, authorities say.

Andrew Charles Shinault, 23, allegedly shot the woman - who was said to be in her 20s - while 'engaging in an act of foreplay involving his registered hand gun', police said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to Shinault's residence in Valrico, east of Tampa, where he was arrested. He was later charged with manslaughter.

The woman was shot in her upper body. She was transported to the Brandon Regional Hospital but later died from the injury.

Shinault has been booked into the Orient Road Jail on a $50,0000 bond.

The victim's identity has not been released under Marsy's law, the sheriff's department said in a statement to DailyMail.com.
