'Hopefully they work tonight': NRL star Blake Ferguson reveals the VERY X-rated comment he made to his girlfriend after picking up a sensitive injury

Rugby league star Blake Ferguson shocked viewers during a post game interview after making an x-rated comment about an injury he received.

Parramatta Eels star Ferguson said, live on air, that his girlfriend asked him how his privates were feeling after taking a knock during Friday night's match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

When asked how his injury was feeling after the game, Ferguson recalled the funny comment his girlfriend made. 

'My missus came up after the game and said "How are your nuts?"

He said he replied to his girlfriend: 'They're alright. Hopefully they work tonight.'

Ferguson was embarrassed after learning from the interviewer that he was being filmed live.

'Are we? No way! Well, we'll cut that out,' he said.

Ferguson sustained the injury during the game after tackling an opponent.

He was visibly in pain and was seen grabbing his shorts.

He fell to the ground and struggled to regain his breath.
