Man booked for raping minor

Rajkot: A man was booked on Saturday for allegedly abducting a 14-year-old girl and raping her several times at different places in Rajkot city and a village in Chotila of Surendranagar district. Police have also booked the accused’s accomplice who had helped him commit the crime.
Police said the accused, identified as Vijay Dumalia, had befriended the survivor at a marriage function six months ago. Both exchanged phone numbers and began to chat frequently.
On May 25, Dumalia called up the survivor and asked her to elope with him for marriage. They met at Navagam Rangila locality in Rajkot where Dumalia called up his relative Sagar Koli, who dropped both of them on his bike at Garden Parotha House in Rajkot.

According to police, near Garden Parotha House, Dumalia checked into a hotel where he raped the survivor six times. Next day, Koli arrived on his bike and took them to Dumalia’s uncle’s house in Chobari village of Chotila taluka in Surendranagar district. Here, Dumalia raped the survivor again.
Two days after the incident, the survivor confided to her family , following which they took her to Kuvadava Road police station and lodged a complaint against Dumalia and Koli.
