Vadodara: A 24-year-old Barodian living in Jersey City of USA has been reportedly gone missing sometime between April 29 and May 1. Mayushi Bhagat had gone to the US in 2016 to pursue post-graduation in electronics engineering after graduating from Vadodara Institute of Engineering. She first took up admission in the University of New Hampshire and later transferred her admission to New York Institute of Technology for the same course.
Her father, Vikas Bhagat, who was earlier working with Vadodara Municipal Corporation, approached Jersey City police department on May 1 morning stating that he last spoke with his daughter through WhatsApp at 12.30 am that night. Bhagat told the cops that his daughter told him that she was okay, but will not return home home till May 3. He also said that she, however, told her father that she did not not want to be bothered.
Bhagat and his wife Deepti are living with their daughter in the US since December last year. Their son also went to the US last month after finishing his college studies.
The father further said that he even called up his daughter on her mobile phone and left a voice mail asking her to contact the East District New Jersey police. The Jersey City police department has been searching for the missing female but are yet to trace her whereabouts. Police have also asked people to inform them if anyone has contact with her.
The Bhagats have their house at Om Nagar Society on Ajwa Road in Vadodara where Bhagat’s grandmother, Saraswati, stays. “I only know that she has been missing. I have not been informed much about it,” said the elderly woman, adding that the family had planned to return to India in some months.
