Daybreak to dusk- moods of Old Delhi

Observing Roza or fasting during the month-long Ramzan is one of the five pillars of Islam. The fast observed daybreak to dusk begins with shehri and ends with iftar. With the holy month nearing its end, thousands of people converge at the iconic 17th-century mosque Jama Masjid every day to mark the culmination of their fast.

As the sun begins to set, the lights decorating the mosque’s minarets are lit up and the chaos before the azan is replaced with a strange sense of peace. As the women begin the eveninig prayers ,children seated next to them busy themselves in phones, taking pictures of the lit up mosque.
