Rajkot: A Jaipur-based Rajasthani trader alleged he was duped of Rs 6 lakh by five conmen in Bhuj. In his complaint to Bhuj police, Raj Singh Naruka took the names of Ajit Chaturvedi, Lalit Chaturvedi, Razak, Usman and Haji as the accused.
Naruka said he was approached by Ajit and Lalit who claimed that in exchange of currency notes of smaller denomination, they could get him 12% commission and convinced him to invest Rs 10 lakh which would get him Rs 11.20 lakh in return.
Naruka came to Bhuj along with his friends Dilip and Amrik Singh. There they met Razak and Usman who took them to Haji Saheb.
“Naruka paid Rs 10 lakh to Haji Saheb who said that he would get the money in Radhanpur only. After reaching Radhanpur, they said he would get the money in Ajmer. Suspecting foul play, Naruka and his friends went to Bhuj and met Haji Saheb and threatened him of goinjg to the police. Haji gave them Rs 4 lakh. But, as they were already duped of Rs 6 lakh, they approached us,” police said.
