'I was blindsided': Sylvia Jeffreys admits Channel Nine sacking was 'a lot to digest' while claiming she was 'collateral damage' in the take down of husband Peter Stefanovic and his brother Karl
A Current Affair reporter Sylvia Jeffreys has admitted her sacking from the Today show was 'a lot to digest'.
During an interview with Stellar Magazine on Saturday, the 33-year-old claimed she was 'collateral damage' in the take down of her husband Peter Stefanovic and his brother Karl.
'I didn't see change on that scale coming... It was a lot to digest all at once,' she candidly told the publication.

'I don't know on what basis those decisions were made, but whatever way you look at it, I was collateral,' Sylvia added, as the job losses came after Karl Stefanovic's wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico.
Admitting there is 'speculation' that Sylvia and Peter were damaged by the high-profile wedding, she added: '[Karl and Jasmine] are beautiful people who love each other very much and that's all I really care about.'
In December last year, Nine implemented a massive overhaul which saw Peter axed, Sylvia, Karl Stefanovic and Tim Gilbert replaced on the Today show and Richard Wilkins redeployed to Today Extra.

Sylvia also left the Today show last year amid the breakfast division shake-up but, unlike her husband, has remained with Channel Nine in A Current Affair.
The new Today show team includes Brooke Boney, Tony Jones, Deborah Knight, Tom Steinfort and Karl's former co-host, Georgie Gardner.
The decision to ax Peter, who spent 15 years at Nine, came after a private phone conversation back in March last year, was leaked to the press.

The driver's 'recollections' of the conversation between Peter and his older brother Karl, 44, were splashed over two editions of New Idea in March and April.
During the conversation, Peter complained about his role on Weekend Today and the Stefanovic brothers also criticised Nine staffers and executives.
Peter told The Herald Sun that he was 'embarrassed' and 'ashamed' as he got his 'network into trouble'.

'I got my wife (Sylvia Jeffreys) and brother (Karl) into trouble; and I took that really hard,' the former Weekend Today host added.
Karl was sacked as co-host of the Today show on December 19, less than two weeks after he married second wife Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico.
He was on his honeymoon in Aspen, Colorado when network executives call him to deliver the bad news.
Despite leaving the breakfast program, two years remain on Karl's contract, which is reportedly worth $2 million per year.
