An Austrian descendent of England's King James II married an American model today in a lavish ceremony - after his split from Real Housewives of New York City star Tinsley Mortimer.

Prince Casimir Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, 41, and Alana Camille Bunte, 29, married at the Schloss Sayn 12th Century castle in Bendorf, Germany.

The couple met in London four years ago and announced their engagement in June 2017. Prince Casimir divorced from his first wife Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein in 2005.

He had been dating Real Housewives of New York City star Tinsley Mortimer, 43, but their relationship fizzled out. 

Alana, born on Laguna Beach, California, is the daughter of Brady Bunte and Angela Lopez and has reportedly modelled for Vogue.

She studied art and design at the University of the Arts and Central Saint Martin - both in London -  and he read for a degree in management at Middlesex University. 

Prince Casimir is also reportedly a visiting academic at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. 

But her new husband was born in to German royalty. A descendant of James II and his illegitimate son James Fitzjames, 1st Duke of Berwick, Prince Casimir is the second son and third child of the Prince and Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn. 

He was romantically linked with Mortimer following her divorce from Robert Livingston 'Topper' Mortimer in 2010 which ended an eight year marriage.  

The newlywed couple were blessed with glorious sunshine for today's ceremony which saw young page boys and bridesmaids dressed in white carry flowers and candles behind the bride.

Alana was driven to the castle venue in a vintage open-top Mercedes from which she beamed at the crowds who gathered to watch her roll up.
