Telangana: Man arrested for posting mom-in-law’s number online

HYDERABAD: A 33-year-old deputy manager with NTPC Limited from Visakhapatnam was nabbed by Rachakonda cybercrime cops on Saturday after he posted his mother-in-law’s phone number on some websites having obscene content. The 59-year-old victim approached the police after she started receiving several calls from unknown persons.
The accused had married the victim’s daughter in 2017. He bore a grudge against the victim and her daughter due to some family dispute and intended to defame the victim.
“The accused shared her mother-in-law’s phone number on some websites having obscene content. He also sent objectionable messages about the victim to her relatives and friends. After her phone number was shared online, the 59-year-old victim started receiving calls from unknown persons who were talking to her vulgar language. She approached the police on Thursday and filed a case,” said a police officer.

After the case was registered, during investigation police traced the accused to Visakhapatnam and nabbed him. “The accused said that his mother-in-law and wife never respected him, because of which he wanted to defame the victim,” added the police officer.
The accused was arrested and booked for stalking, criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication and insult the modesty of a woman.
