Skipper Kekana wants 'La Decima' for Sundowns

2019-06-01 09:29
Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says they are aiming for a 10th Absa Premiership title in 2019/20 which in Spain was once called 'La Decima' for Real Madrid.

When Madrid won their 10th UEFA Champions League crown, the club famously labelled it 'La Decima' in 2014.

As such, Kekana, who has been a mainstay behind the Brazilians' success over the years, helping the side to win the CAF Champions League in 2016, said: "Obviously it's going to be part of our goals for the season, to win the 10th league title.

"It's called La Decima and we want La Decima in South Africa."

The destroyer added that winning the CAF Champions League again is also high on the agenda for the Pitso Mosimane-coached outfit.

He concluded: "It would really be nice to be the generation that brought that second star (Champions League)."

'Downs will likely once again be fighting on all fronts although Mosimane has admitted he does need to strengthen his squad particularly in the striking department.
