Two Special Sub-Inspectors of police attached to the Brammadesam police station and highway patrol respectively were shifted to the Armed Reserve for dereliction of duty. Police sources said Armstrong attached to the Brammadesam police station had allegedly connived with sand mafia and was lax in taking action against them while Suryanarayanan attached to the highway patrol didn't report for duty. Superintendent of Police S. Jayakumar ordered their transfer following complaints. The two policemen have been shifted to the AR police for dereliction of duty.
