CHENNAI: The
DMK will hold a
meeting of its district secretaries, MPs and
MLAs at the party headquarters -- Anna Arivalayam – here on June 3.
This will be the first meeting of the party district secretaries, MPs and MLAs after the
Lok Sabha elections and byelections in 22 assembly constituencies.
Party sources told TOI that the meeting would take stock of the party's performance in the Lok Sabha elections and byelections.
"We expect the party leaders to discuss the performance in the Lok Sabha elections in which the DMK won 38 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Though we expected to win all the 22 seats in the byelections, we won only 13 seats. Officially, the party has been patting itself, but our president is likely to question us as to how we lost the nine seats," said a party district secretary.
The party will hold a public meeting at YMCA ground at Nandanam on June 3 to thank all voters who supported the DMK alliance.
