MOHALI: Police suspect involvement of five persons in the murder of Sunny Paswan. SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said, "During investigations we found out that there were a total of five accused involved in the case."
A 19-year-old youth was found murdered near the fields in Ambedkar Colony at Balongi on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Sunny Paswan, a resident of Ambedkar Colony.
Police registered a case against Amit Tiwari and Dilip Kumar, both residents of the same colony, following the complaint of Madhur Dhan, the father of the victim. They were booked under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC at the Balongi police station. According to Balongi police SHO, sub-inspector Yogesh Kumar, the father of the victim told them that Amit and Dilip came to their house in the early hours of Wednesday and took away Sunny, who never returned home.
In the morning, a few passersby found his body lying near the fields. However, the cause of the crime is yet to be ascertained. The body bore stabbing wounds, said Yogesh Kumar. The body was kept in the mortuary of civil hospital, Phase VI, Mohali.
