Modi government 2.0 LIVE updates: A day after the magnificent swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his 57 union cabinet ministers, the focus has now been shifted to who will take the charge of which ministry in the second term of PM Modi-led BJP government. The Narendra Modi-led NDA-II government at the Centre will announce the final list of portfolio allocation to the Cabinet ministers and others soon. The first meeting of the new Cabinet is scheduled to take place at 5 pm later in the day. It is said that the first 100 days of the NDA-II government will be the yardstick of Modi’s Mission 2020.

Meanwhile, Maneka Gandhi, Suresh Prabhu, JP Nadda, Radha Mohan Singh have not been included in the Modi government 2.0. Reports said eight-time MP Maneka Gandhi, who had won from the Sultanpur seat in Uttar Pradesh, is likely to be the pro-term Speaker in the 17th Lok Sabha. Apart from that, the decision on who will become the new BJP president has been making headlines. Reportedly, Amit Shah, a new member of the Modi Cabinet, would hold a key portfolio in the government.

— Raj Kumar Singh – Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Power; Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

— Pratap Chandra Sarangi becomes the MoS in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries. Babul Supriyo becomes MoS in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. General (Retd) VK Singh to be the MoS in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ramdas Athwale to be the MoS in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Anurag Thakur to be the MoS in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. 

— Dharmendra Pradhan has been given the ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas along with Ministry of Steel. Apart from that, the ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Harsh Vardhan gets the ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences.

— Prakash Javadekar becomes Minister of Environment, forest and Climate Change along with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Piyush Goyal has retained the ministry of Railways and Commerce and Industry. Pralhad Joshi gets teh ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, ministry of coal and ministry of mines. 

— Ramesh Pokhriyal becomes the Minister of Human Resource Development while Ravi Shankar Prasad retains ministry of Law and Justice along with the Ministry of Communications and Electronics and Information Technology.

— Nitin Gadkari retains the ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.  Narendra Singh Tomar gets the ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare along with Ministry of Rural development and ministry of Panchayati Raj. 

— Rajnath Singh appointed as the new Defence Minister, Amit Shah gets Home Ministry, S Jaishankar new External Affairs Minister. Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has been appointed as the Minister of External Affairs. Smriti Zubin Irani has been appointed as Minister of Women and Child Development and Minister of Textiles. 

 

— The name of 57 ministers will be announced on the website of the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India.  Reports said the names are being uploaded now. 

— Union Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi on Friday asserted that he was fortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed his trust on him and inducted him to his Cabinet. He said that for him the politics was a medium to serve the nation and BJP stands for – nation first, party second and self last.

— On Thursday, PM Modi took oath for the second term and along with him Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Smriti Irani were among the 57 leaders who were sworn in as union cabinet ministers who are going to be a part of Modi govt 2.0.
