Huawei for a while is known to be working on new Nova series smartphones called Nova 5 and Nova 5i. The former recently received 3C certification in China with SEA-TL10 and SEA-AL10 model numbers. However, the listing revealed nothing except that it would come with a 40W charger in the box. Now, the Nova 5i with model number GKL-LX3 has been spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark platform. According to the listing, it is likely to run on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 and would be powered by the Kirin 710 SoC.

Furthermore, the handset scored 131,715 points, in-line with the chipset expectations. The variant that visited AnTuTu benchmarks has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that could be user expandable. While the display size isn’t known, it has been listed with full-HD+ screen with 1,080 X 2,310 pixels resolution. Rumours suggest that Huawei Nova 5i could be the rebranded P20 Lite 2019 in some markets. The FCC certification suggests the phone would have 4,000mAh battery and 128GB variant as well. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now. 

On the other hand, Nova 5 smartphone is rumoured to feature a Sony IMX576 25-megapixel selfie camera and is expected to house a 3,500mAh battery. On the rear, it could feature a triple camera setup with Sony IMX380 12.3-megapixel lens, a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel lens, and a Sony IMX316 ToF sensor. The handset is expected to be powered by the flagship Kirin 980 SoC and is said to come with a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. Lastly, the leaked case doesn’t show a cutout for a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, suggesting the Nova 5 flagship might have an in-display sensor for biometric security.
