Piyush Goyal retains railways, likely to focus on safety, non-fare revenue
Piyush Goyal, reassigned the charge of the crucial railway ministry, is likely to focus on safety, generation of non-fare revenue, track renewal, modernisation and increase in the production of state-of-the-art coaches in his second stint at the helm of the national transporter, official sources said Friday.
Goyal, having achieved the lowest accident figures in his previous tenure, had repeatedly said that his goal was to reach the zero accident standard.
His biggest challenge would be to maintain the record by timely track maintenance and renewal.

Nirmala Sitharaman is India’s first full-time woman Defence Minister. She became the face and voice of India’s anti-terror operations after the dastardly attack on CRPF jawans in Pulwama in February. She oversaw the Indian Air Force’s strike on terror camps deep inside Pakistani territory in Balakot days after the Pulwama attack.
Earlier, she was Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

As promised, PM Modi forms Jal Shakti ministry
In the portfolio allocation, a new ministry, Jal Shakti, has been introduced, in line with PM Modi's poll promise of providing safe drinking water to people.
Member of Parliament from Jodhpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who defeated the son of Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, will head the Jal Shakti Ministry. It has been created by reorganising the earlier Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, which was held by Nitin Gadkari in the previous government. Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has also been added to it. (ANI)

Rajnath Singh, as the Home Minister, held the key to our day-to-day safety and welfare. His experience and administrative skills have ensured that millions of Indians sleep easy at night, secure in the knowledge that terrorism is being fought with a blend of intelligence and determination.
He previously served as the CM of Uttar Pradesh and as a Cabinet Minister holding several important portfolios including agriculture and surface transport and highways in the Atal Behari Vajpayee-led NDA Government. During his tenure as the Union Agriculture Minister, he initiated a few epoch-making projects like Kisan Call Centre and Farm Income Insurance Scheme.
He has also served as the President of the BJP twice, 2005 to 2009 and 2013 to 2014.

Amit Shah - Minister of Home Affairs
BJP President Amit Shah is a political leader who has his finger on the pulse of hundreds of millions of voters across India. Electoral astuteness, commitment to ideology (vichardhara), value of workers (karyakarta) and sanctity of workplace (karyalay) are his key standout attributes.
He met his mentor PM Narendra Modi in an RSS shakha in Naranpura, Ahemdabad. He honed his organisational skills under former BJP President Kushabhau Thakre also with whom he worked for a long time. Himself a booth worker in initial days, he took up the challenging task of registering all BJP workers manually when Modi was the Organization Secretary of Gujarat.
Since taking over as the BJP President in 2014, Shah continued his focus on streamlining and expanding worker base.
