Cops arrest 22-yr-old for ATM fraud

CHANDIGARH: On Thursday, Chandigarh Police arrested a 22-year-old Monu Kumar, a resident of DMC Chandigarh, for his involvement in an ATM fraud case.

According to the police, Ravi Kumar, who is serving as a teacher in Government Model High School in EWS Colony, Dhanas, reported on February 17 that he had gone to a bank in Khudda Lahora for withdrawing money. After he inserted his ATM card, he cancelled his request without any transaction due to some problem with the card. But Ravi informed the police that he received a message on his mobile phone about the withdrawal of Rs 20,000 from his bank account.
After investigation, the cops from Sarangpur police station, headed by station house officer (SHO) Ram Rattan, arrested the accused Monu Kumar. The police also seized 22 ATM cards of different banks in the name of different customers from him. TNN
