UP: Agra zone records 1st heatwave death, 52-year-old succumbs

AGRA: A 52-year-old man travelling along with his eight-year-old son in an Uttar Pradesh roadways bus died of heat stroke on Friday. This was the first heatwave death recorded in Agra zone this year.
A resident of Janiyapur village under Aliganj police jurisdiction of Etah district, the victim was identified as Shivraj, who was headed to Kasganj district along with is son Mangal, to visit one of their relatives. According to police, the victim was found unconscious in the bus and his son alerted the bus conductor and driver for help.
Speaking with TOI, Dinesh Dubey, station house officer of Kasganj Kotwali, said, “The incident happened near Nadrai around 12:30 pm. The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital by co-passengers but unfortunately Shivraj could not survive. The doctors who attended the victim claimed that Shivraj couldn’t bear the excessive heat and suffered brain haemorrhage.”

“The victim’s death left his lone son orphan, as his wife, too, had died a couple years ago. The teenage boy was handed over to his relatives in Kasganj, who took Shivraj's body for the last rites,” he added.
According to Indian Meteorological Department, Kasganj’s neighbouring districts, like Agra, recorded 46 degrees Celsius on Friday while Aligarh recorded 45 degrees Celsius.
