Varanasi celebrates its MP Modi's anointment as PM for second term

PM Modi supporters perform Ganga puja with dugdhabhishek amid chanting of vedic mantras in Varanasi.
Varanasi: The city celebrated the occasion of swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi by holding a series of activities like Ganga puja, sweets distribution, a tea party on Thursday.
A group of vedic Brahmins of Vipra Samaj, along with the students of Shashtrarth Mahavidyalaya and BJP supporters, assembled at Ahilyabai Ghat in the morning. They performed Ganga puja with dugdhabhishek amid chanting of vedic mantras. The convener Pawan Shukla said that the event was held to seek blessings of Maa Ganga for the Modi government. It is also the expression of our joy for the second term of PM Modi with more power and promises, he said.

The members of Morning Club, BHU also offered prayers at the Vishwanath Temple on the campus of Banaras Hindu University and distributed sweets among morning walkers to celebrate the occasion. "It is a great day for the country that a strong and stable government is being formed under the leadership of Modi," said the club president Ghanshyam Jaiswal.
Similarly, a tea seller Santosh served tea free of cost in Nadesar area to celebrate the day. A staunch supporter of Modi, Santosh said that he had also served tea free of cost in 2014 when Modi had become PM for the first time. "It is a occasion of double celebrations for us that Modi ji is going to lead the nation for the second term," he said.
