Vadodara: While the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) may have made extensive efforts to clean and repair the water treatment facility at Nimeta, complaints of bad quality water continue to trickle in. Elected representatives raised the issue during a visit by VMC functionaries to the Gajrawadi water tank on Friday.
The top brass of theVMC is visiting city’s water tanks that are supplied water from the Nimeta water treatment facility. Gajrawadi water tank was the fourth water supply tank that the officials visited.
Corporators complained that coloured or even stinking water was being supplied in their areas. The officials discussed the issue with elected representatives and they were told that engineers would visit the areas facing problems in the next couple of days and try to resolve the issues.
Officials said that the water being supplied from Nimeta now had very low turbidity and no contamination. They pointed out that the issue may now be due to local reasons like contamination of water due to leakages affecting the distribution or feeder lines that carry water to different areas. It was also suggested during the meeting that water pipelines in the affected areas would be cleared of any possible depositions inside them.tnn
