Man cheated by ‘dirt on shirt’ trick

Pune: A street vendor selling purses on the streets in Khadki was cheated of Rs 70,000 by a man who used ‘dirt on shirt’ trick to steal the money from the vendor on Monday in Khadki. The victim has lodged a case of theft with the Khadki police in the case. 

According to the Khadki police, the incident took place at around 9 pm. The complainant, Anil Ingale (48), was selling purses near Kalpesh Jewellers at Tikaram Chowk, when an unidentified person approached Ingale and told him that dirt had fallen on his shirt. 

The thief then diverted Ingale’s mind and escaped with the bag containing the cash of Rs 70,000. Police Sub-Inspector MA Kamble is investigating the case.
